George Gasperson, Pastor

Pastor George is a native of Asheville, North Carolina. He is a graduate of Southern Wesleyan University and Wake Forest School of Medicine. After a career in Orthopedic Surgery as a Physician's Assistant, George answered a call to ministry. He founded a new church in Greensboro, North Carolina, which was designed to reach young, post-modern people. He has eleven years of ministry experience, and is passionate about making Christianity relevant to today’s culture. George is an avid cyclist, and enjoys Starbucks coffee, computers, music, and mountains. George and his wife Margaret have two sons and one beautiful granddaughter. Jesse, his wife Carrie, and daughter Rylynn live in High Point, NC. Sean is a Doctoral Candidate in Organizational Psychology at NC State University in Raleigh, and is planning a 2011 wedding to his new fiance’ Jenna.
Tim Storms, Associate Pastor

Pastor Tim Storms comes to Christ Community with over 36 years experience as a Pastor, having served churches in Florida, Oklahoma, Indiana and Illinois. A 1973 graduate of Ozark Christian College with a Bachelor of Theology degree, Tim has also taken graduate work at Bethel College. Teaching people about Jesus and helping those through the difficult times of life have been Tim’s passion. Tim and Becky, his wife of 40 years, have 3 children: Brent, Managing Director of Orchard Group—a church-planting organization in New York; Andrew, a Life Groups Pastor in southern California; and Lindsay, a loving mother of three children and a member of Christ Community. Becky loves music, teaching and decorating houses. Tim and Becky love spending time with their 8 grandchildren and exploring God’s beautiful world.
Daryl Reimer, Administrative Pastor

Daryl is an ordained minister, having received his B.A. from Wayland Baptist University and his M.A. from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has 20 years of ministry leadership experience, as well as another 17 years in positions of management. Daryl brings a love for organization, a talent for people skills, and a passion for excellence to his role as Administrative Pastor. He is married to Ruth, a hard-working school administrator and a mother of five. Three children reside in Georgia, two having gotten married recently; while Taylor, a Lakeland Christian School graduate, is headed off to the University of Florida, where she will be a Gator Cheerleader; and Aimee, the youngest, is deeply involved in Competitive Cheerleading for the Brandon(Florida) All-Stars.
Margaret Gasperson, Worship Pastor

Margaret has been in ministry for over 28 years, serving as youth pastor, Director of Christian Education and Worship Pastor. She is a graduate of Southern Wesleyan University, with her B.A. in Psychology and Christian Education. Margaret also serves as the Director of Coaching for the Wesleyan Church. She is a certified leadership, ministry and business coach with Lifeforming Leadership Coaching, CoachNet International, and The Wesleyan Coaching Network. She oversees the recruiting, training and networking of coaches, as well as coordinating the coaching of church planters and serves as a mentor for the Wesleyan Coach Certification process. Margaret enjoys being married to George, our Pastor at CCC, being a mom for two wonderful sons and being “Grammy” to her grandbaby, Rylynn. Singing, leading worship, and staying relevant are just a few of Margaret's passions she shares with Christ Community Church on a weekly basis.
Jessica Nelson, Children's Pastor

Pastor Jess is originally from Pennsylvania. She is a graduate of Houghton College in New York with a B.A. in Religion with a ministerial concentration and family studies minor. She is passionate about children knowing God as their father and watching them as they grow in their faith. She also enjoys working with leaders who have a heart for children. Jessica is married to a wonderful man named James, an IT director, and they are excitedly awaiting the arrival of their first child in November.
Chris Weatherly, Youth Pastor

Chris Weatherly is originally from Lilburn Georgia, but has lived in Florida for the better part of ten years. He graduated from Warner University with a B.A. in Biblical Studies. Chris loves working with students and believes that God can change the world through the lives of students. His greatest desire is to connect students to the life changing message of the gospel of Christ. He is happily married to Megan Weatherly with their first child on the way.

Mercedes is a Florida native who has spent most of her life in Polk County. Mercedes is mother to two busy preschoolers, and step-mother to three amazing sweeties. Before Mercedes and her husband, Danny, began the process of building her own little army for Christ, Mercedes spent nine years working for Publix Super Markets, Inc. She is an alumnus of Florida Southern College, where she earned her BS in Psychology and Criminology and minored in Sociology.
Mercedes is passionate about children as well as abused, neglected, and/or forgotten people. Mercedes is active in our Children’s Ministries, as well as various other external outreach programs.
Tom James, Celebrate Recovery Director

Tom has spent more than 30 years in Christian ministry. Tom graduated from Morehead State University and served in several churches in South Carolina before joining the Clyde Dupin Crusade Team as Crusade Director. During those 8 years, he directed more than 40 crusades here in the states, Russia, Bosnia, Croatia, and the Caribbean. In 1997, Tom was asked to serve his denomination as Director of Church Growth. Later, Tom was elected District Superintendent of The Northwest District of The Wesleyan Church. In 2003, Tom experienced a broken-world experience that later on brought him to Christ Community Church, where he became the Celebrate Recovery Director. Tom feels his main mission is to minister to hurting, broken people. His empathy and care for those who have had a broken-world experience or have been affected by the actions and choices of others is genuinely heart-felt. Tom and his wife, Becky, a fourth grade teacher at Haven Christian Academy live in Winter Haven, Florida. They are blessed with two awesome kids. Amber teaches music at Southern Wesleyan University and Clemson University in South Carolina. Matt is nursing school at Polk State College and works at Winter Haven Hospital.
